Better questions make clearer decisions.
Straightforward guides covering the details that matter: repayment, fees, product differences and the meaning of APR.
Before you sign anything
What the numbers on your offer actually mean.
APR, origination fees, total repayable, flat-dollar cost — lenders are required to show you these, but not always required to explain them clearly. Our guides do that job so you can compare offers, spot the expensive parts and ask the right questions.
These are educational guides, not personal financial advice. Your exact terms are always in your individual loan agreement.

Common questions
Frequently asked questions
Are these guides personal financial advice?
No. They are general educational guides. Your individual loan terms are confirmed in your agreement. Always review that before signing.
What is the most important thing to check on any loan offer?
The total amount repayable — the sum of every payment you will make. Subtract the amount you receive. That difference is what the loan costs you in total. A lower monthly payment with a longer term often costs more overall.
What should I do if I do not understand a fee on my offer?
Contact the lender before signing. They are required to explain any part of your offer. Never sign an agreement you do not fully understand.
